Media Hype

In today’s world, main stream media has gained  significant importance in our daily lives. Its mushroom growth, on one hand is keeping us more informed, but on the other it is posing us with the challenge of identification of the motives behind the news.

Majority of such media houses, especially in the third world are working as a tool of the mighty and powerful. Some of the media houses fail to understand motives of the minds behind the news; others are just ready to do everything to please such power houses to gain some financial favours or to satisfy their rivelry with the well established and experienced media houses.

Immature and fame hungry anchors remain always ready to move on the hidden strings.

Instead of maintaining objectively, they always try to mix their own opinions in every news. In this way they either destroy or pass on biased news to the masses.

Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube has also gained much importance. Citizen Journalism has became so easy that you can publish any news or issue in minutes. All you need is a good camera.

The darker side of the main stream media is that most of the time they unnecessarily creat a flood in a tea’s cup and stars giving it hype. Their actual motives behind such a hype is to distract viewers from other channels such as sports, drama or documentories so that their ratings may not be hampered.

They only share important news if it is in their benefit, otherwise they are least bothered to broadcast it.

But with all its nuisance value some good is also being done and some awareness is spreading by its presence.

What is essential, is that one must not waste too much time on watching news; as excess of everything is bad. Divide your time prudently and don’t allow more than an hour on each day, by the maximum. Watch sports channels and new classic matches of your favourite sports. Allow some time to your children and discuss their problems, if any. And read some good books

Time is precious, life is short, enjoy its every bit to the fullest.
